Over 40 enthusiastic “Surrey for Europe” supporters from Epsom, Sutton, Kingston,
Farnham, Weybridge and Guildford and neighbouring areas gathered in Epsom’s Spa Room at the Ebbisham Centre, on Monday evening, 19th September, to discuss continued support for Britain’s membership of the European Union.
The meeting was organised by Surrey For Europe and heard from economist Jonathan Hoffman, Head of Research for “Britain for Europe” who spoke about potential economic issues arising from Brexit, as well as difficulties in Theresa May’s cabinet. The group will be continuing its pro-EU campaigning and activities, including demonstrations at the Conservative party conference.
Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington MP added: “getting involved with Surrey for Europe is a great way for residents to join pro-European events and campaigns. Carshalton and Wallington, like the rest of the UK, has benefitted from our membership of the European Union and I would urge anyone interested to join in and fight for our European identity.”
