Tom Brake MP was honoured to attend and present awards at the Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders 2015 Awards and Open Day last Sunday.

Tom presented awards to riders in different age groups for their achievements over the year and also awards for long service to the Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders. Some awards were even given to volunteers who had given over 30 years of service to the centre.

Tom also watched performances carried out by the riders with a Christmas theme and there was even a visit from Father Christmas at the end of the open day.

Tom said:

“It was a huge honour to present awards at a centre which is so well loved by the community and which brings so much joy to many people within Carshalton and Wallington and from much further afield. I really enjoyed watching the performances and it was great to speak with some of the riders, staff and volunteers at the centre. I am sure the Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders will have another successful year in 2016.”

Tom is raising money for the Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders and recently completed the Muscle Acre-Mud Slog challenge for the Centre. He chose this charity after he asked constituents what charity they would most like him to raise money for. It came as no surprise that the Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders was the overwhelming choice.
