4 steps to better transport

As your local MP, I want to see getting to work, visiting friends or making a trip to the shops to be as convenient as possible.

Whether you prefer to use the train, buses, tram, cycle, or get around on foot,  improving Sutton’s transport links will benefit everyone, not just those who take the bus, by making us better connected, bringing new business to the area and making Sutton greener. That’s why I am asking you to back a 4 step campaign to improve local transport.

If you want to see our area better connected then click here to add your support to the campaign.

Our recent victory to preserve Thameslink services beyond Blackfriars and get the 154 to run 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays shows how strong our voice can be. Together we can spread the campaign message and ensure that the Mayor backs the transport improvements we need for our area to prosper.

In particular to enable people living in Carshalton and Wallington to enjoy central London at night without the worry of how to get home without an expensive cab fare or rushing to catch the rather early (in comparison to other services in London) last bus or train.

So that we can get to places without having to drive the car! The lack of an Underground connection has always been a drawback to central south suburb travel.

Sutton is a great place to live. With better transport infrastructure this town might have the opportunity to really shine!

all suburbs should be easy to get to. croydon is wonderful because of the tram. i would suggest a different route to join up at mitcham junction or to use existing train lines west croydon to sutton etc
