Q: Please use the space below to let me know if there are any local or national issues that you want to raise with me.
A: Rosehill has a serious alcohol and drug problem and seems to be getting worse each week as a resident and a business owner in this area I think it makes the area come across as run down place and puts people off, of coming to the area.. especially when you have the local addicts sitting on the corner opposite a giant 99p shop which has opened to most residents horror we where all hoping for maybe a big chain coffee shop or a nice place to eat like nandos or tgi something that would attract people to the area not a 99p shop that quite frankly has a load of rubbish in.
All funding has been cut for the drug and alcohol services that where avaliable to those in need of help which isn’t just in our borough.
As a wife to a husband who’s been through addiction and come out the other side with the help of the authorities and various other organization’s which he still attends, I feel that’s it’s vital that groups and support are avaliable easily to these member’s of the community that need it. And a continued support programme is followed again not only in our borough but all over the UK.
    Rehabilitation funding has been cut.
Various AA CA NA (non profitable orgabizations) groups have folded due to lack of funds and people attending, this is a brilliant service that costs the government nothing and they ask for nothing however if people are not pointed in the right direction with the right help then how will they ever survive let me add this isn’t a service just for addicts they are for family member to. Up until 4 years ago when I met my husband I as a person who’s does not sufer from addiction I had no idea about such services.
Lastly funding has been cut for those who are in recovery and would like re train and get there life on track and gain a qualification.

Mayne not important to some but just an observation of mine on our area and others across the UK.

Lastly as a parent to 2 young children that live in rosehill I won’t even let them go to the shop alone due to the amount of unsavoury characters hanging around the off licenses and benches. If I sit in my car for 10 mins I can see various drug deals happening… where are the police oh again there funding has been cut too hasn’t it ? This area could be so lovely however it’s seems like no one really cares about it…
It looks scruffy run down and quite frankly if I could move out of the area I would this isn’t a nice place to bring children up at all!
