We only have to look at the Euro. One man, George Soros could sabotage the pound when we pulled out of the ERM. The euro was around 2 euros to the pound, now it is 1.20 to the pound in spite of the stupidity and greed of Greece, Spain, Italy and Ireland. If we only had the intelligence of Germany and France. Nigel Farage sent me an email about the wonderful British car industry. He seems to confuse Britain with Germany, France, China etc. Germany uses oxygen to cure cancer – sadly our NHS has not heard of Oxygen. We have nothing to fall back on. EFTA no longor exists, which I supported when Heath proposed the EEC. But Heath was right. It will be a sad day if Brexit wins. The pound will fall, unemployment will rise, the RPI will go sky high. Maybe we will have a taste of what Germany went through in the 1920’/30’s with hyperinflation.

EU migrants are needed for the workforce.

EU regulations help the environment and set limits for air pollution even though they are ignored by the UK government.

EU membership helps with security issues.

My (nearly) 93 year old Mum has used her postal vote for Remain. She wants to secure the future for Rose her 23 year old granddaughter who is currently working in Italy and has a job in Poland from September. Migration works both ways, close the doors on Europe and you’ll close the doors on Rose’s future.

I have listened to all the arguments and have today read the article by the LSE by Nicholas Barr. (His Internet ‘Letter to Friends’) It is the closest to a balanced set of facts / speculations that I have read. I was in anyway – but now definitely so. I am fed up with hearing about the Health Service and Immigration – these are areas where the government need to take a stronger stand.

The other piece of influential argument was from John Major on the Andrew Marr show – calm, dispassionate and honourable.
