Elmwood Nursery to Remain Open

After a long fight to prevent its closure, Elmwood Nursery at Carshalton College will remain open.

To be able to stay open, the nursery is increasing its fees to match the other nurseries in the area. Elmwood was slated to close because it could not afford to operate with subsidised fees. The nursery is working with individual families to create customised payment plans that work for them.

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, commented,

“I am relieved that Elmwood Nursery, where my own children went, will stay open under the watchful care of Margaret and her staff. I’m grateful to the parents at the nursery who have fought tooth and nail to prevent it closing and have agreed to pay more each month to keep the nursery open.”
