Constituents Give Tom Brake MP High Marks

April 28, 2004 12:00 AM

Local constituents will be receiving a report on Tom Brake's 2003 Constituent Satisfaction Survey. According to responses to the survey, Tom is maintaining his past high level of service. The Member of Parliament for Carshalton and Wallington received especially high marks for his accessibility and the speed and content of his responses to constituents' enquiries.

Tom's fourth such survey included questions on the helpfulness of his staff, the ability of constituents to contact him, and the speed of his responses to constituents' inquiries.

According to Tom,

"Once again my constituents recognize my staff's hard work. I am particularly pleased that the vast majority of respondents found it easy to contact me, and were happy with the speed and content of my responses to them. I always strive to be an accessible and accountable Member of Parliament. "

"The real challenge now will be to maintain this level of constituents' satisfaction".

The findings of the survey reveal:

  • 94% found it easy or very easy to contact Tom Brake
  • 85% were happy with the speed of his response
  • 80% were happy or very happy with the content of his response
  • 54% said that were a General election held tomorrow, they would vote Lib-Dem, more than twice the number for the Conservative and Labour parties combined
  • None of the respondents found Tom's staff unhelpful

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
