Tom Brake with Sutton Schools Christmas card competition prize winners 2004Shivani Rathod, a Year 6 student at Stanley Park Junior School will see her artwork adorning local MP Tom Brake's Christmas cards this year after winning the annual competition to design the MP's official card. Tom Brake's card is sent to 1,400 people locally.

Shivani and the other winners were presented with their prizes by Tom Brake at Wallington Library on 4 December. In keeping with the 'Christmas around the world' theme, the winners all received atlases as prizes. In addition, Shivani and her parents will be Mr Brake's guests for afternoon tea in the House of Commons. The design was chosen out of over 400 entries from pupils of local schools.

Mr Brake said:

"Shivani's design captured the theme of 'Christmas around the world' perfectly. I hope Sutton schools continue to nurture talented young artists, as the quality of the artwork was phenomenal and I wouldn't be surprised if we had future Turner prize winners in our ranks."
