Seven Acres Residents Back Tsunami Appeal

January 7, 2005 3:52 PM

Residents of Seven Acres in Carshalton were joined by Tom Brake MP at their regular coffee morning on Wednesday.

By common consent, after a question and answer session on the both international matters like the Tsunami and local matters like the plans to reorganize hospitals locally, they agreed to devote the proceeds of their regular raffle to the Tsunami Appeal. A total of £13.50 was raised.

Tom Brake who drew the raffle said, "It is incredible how people locally have thrown themselves into a wide range of fund-raising activities to help communities devastated by the Tsunami. The generosity of people, who may often not be wealthy themselves, has been remarkable."

Anyone wanting to donate to the appeal can send cheques to the DEC Tsunami Earthquake Appeal, PO Box 999, London EC3A 3AA.

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
