Accelerating, overtaking and braking … changing gears and executing u-turns …

Monday morning (14 November) finds local MP Tom Brake navigating Carshalton's roads in a bid to improve his driving skills. Mr Brake, who serves as the Liberal Democrat Transport spokesman, is taking part in the Institute of Advanced Motorists' "Skill for Life" driving course.

Mr Brake said,

"I passed the basic test over twenty years ago, but Britain's roads have changed quite a lot in the past two decades. The L-test was just the beginning of my driving career."

The IAM driving course is a real eye-opener. I encourage Sutton's drivers to improve their driving skills and help make Sutton's roads safer for all road users, from other drivers and passengers to cyclists and pedestrians."
