June 8, 2006 10:31 AM

Tom Brake MP and St Helier Councillors, Sheila Andrews, Dave Callaghan, and David Theobald are hosting a meeting on St Helier Hospital and the 'Better Healthcare Closer to Home' project.

The public meeting will take place at Hill House, Bishopsford Road (on the corner of Bishopsford Road and Middleton Road) on Tuesday 13th June from 7pm until 8.30pm.

Caroline Taylor the Chief Executive of the Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust and a representative of the Epsom and St Helier NHS University Trust will be present to provide the latest facts on this important health project.

Tom Brake said, 'Anyone with an interest in their local hospital and the Health Service should attend this meeting. Come and find out what is planned and how it will impact on your health care.'

The meeting will cover amongst other issues; the next steps in the Better Healthcare Closer to Home project, what services will be delivered from a local care hospital and what services will be delivered from an Acute hospital.

There will also be an opportunity to raise issues about the impact St Helier Hospital has currently on the neighbouring area.

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
