Brake Gets a Taste of Childminding During Childminding Week

June 22, 2008 11:42 PM

Tom Brake commemorated National Childminding Week last week by meeting registered childminder Sarah Butler, and two of the children she looks after; Ryan and Josh in Carshalton.

The aim of Childminding Week is to raise awareness of the valuable work childminders and nannies do, as well as celebrating the contribution they make to family lives.

Tom said, "As a father of two children, I know how essential a friendly and qualified childminder is. They play a key role in the development of children, as well as helping families, where both parents work, retain their jobs."

Tom thanked Sarah saying, "It was obvious that Sarah was both friendly and highly qualified and Ryan and Josh were very relaxed with her, enjoying the run of the house and garden with its thriving vegetable garden and play area!"

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
