With Team GB's Olympic success still reverberating around the nation, Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington is encouraging local businesses to take advantage of the opportunities the Olympics will bring to the capital.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 represent a once-in-a generation opportunity for London, and the country as a whole. They are a chance to regenerate and build communities as well as the greatest display of global sporting achievements taking place in the next four years.

Now Tom Brake MP is encouraging local businesses to compete for the £6 billion of contracts that the Olympics will bring. Companies can register online at www.competefor.com. Tom is also highlighting the opportunity local people have to volunteer for the games which can be found at www.london2012.com. Volunteers can already register their interest.

Commenting on this Tom said 'There are great opportunities for people throughout the capital, including here in Carshalton and Wallington, to take part in London 2012 such as volunteering at the games. Local businesses can also benefit from the billions of pounds of economic investment that will take place between now and 2012. I'd encourage everyone to register their interest on these websites'.
