The results of local MP Tom Brake's Christmas Card Competition are in - and 2008 has proven to be the biggest contest yet. This year more children were involved and submitted designs than in any previous year.

This made choosing the design to be used for Tom Brake's official Christmas card even more difficult than usual, not least because the entries were of a very high standard. The winning design of a Christmas robin - by Robyn Ardley of Stanley Park Junior School - was finally chosen for its simple, vibrant design and subtle colouring.

Robyn's design will go out to over a thousand people locally. She and her family will also be invited for tea at the Houses of Parliament.

Tom Brake said that "All of the children's efforts here have been outstanding. I would like to thank all the children who got involved and submitted their artwork, their teachers, as well as Strawberry Lodge, Friends of Wallington Library and the staff at Wallington Library for kindly hosting our event."

Those results in full:

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
