Launch of NO2ID Campaign.

Tom at the launch on Wallington High StreetLocal MP, Tom Brake, joined forces with NO2ID campaigners on Wallington High Street on Saturday 11th April to launch the Sutton branch of NO2ID.

NO2ID is the UK-wide, non-partisan campaign opposing the Government's planned ID card and National Identity Register.

NO2ID aims to bring together individuals and organisations from all sections of the community to make the case against ID cards and the 'database state'.

Commenting after the launch Tom Brake said, 'ID cards could end up costing billions of pounds whilst at the same time imposing severe restrictions on personal liberties.

'I am extremely glad that we now have a campaign group in Sutton to help gather support and prevent the scheme from going ahead.'

The launch was very successful more than 150 local people signed the petition against the imposition of I D cards
