Local MP Welcomes New Sunday Bus Service

May 18, 2009 4:12 PM

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, has welcomed the decision by TfL to introduce a Sunday bus service on the 463 route.

From the 24th May the service will be available every half an hour from early morning to late evening.

Tom Brake has been supporting local residents to demonstrate the need for a local bus service after TfL claimed there was no demand.

Tom said, "Clockhouse residents who rely on public transport will no longer be marooned on Sundays. I am very pleased that TfL have finally seen sense and introduced this new service that will provide vital transport links for local people."

From Coulsdon, the first Sunday bus will leave at 0619, and the last bus at 2319. From Eastfields, the first Sunday bus will leave at 0627, with the last bus at 2347. The bus runs every 30 mins on Sundays.

There are also proposals that would mean the route 463 would serve Recreation Way and Tamworth Lane as well as the new Mitcham Eastfields Railway Station from 4th September 2009.

If you are a resident of the Carshalton and Wallington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
