Over one hundred MPs (exactly 103) have now backed Maggie Hughes' campaign to get more assistance for families whose members have been victims of severe accidents and violent crimes outside of the UK by signing a parliamentary motion tabled by her local MP Tom Brake.

Tom Brake MP has welcomed the news saying,

"The broad support the campaign has received in Parliament is deeply encouraging. I sincerely hope the fantastic work Maggie and others have been doing on this vital issue will continue to be recognised."

"It is essential to set up a strong support mechanism for families affected by violent crimes and serious accidents whilst abroad."

Maggie Hughes is currently running a campaign entitled "Please Enjoy Don't Destroy", which aims to reduce violence which is linked to the number of people binge- drinking on holiday, after her son, Robbie, was attacked whilst on holiday in Crete.

The EDM has cross party support and has been signed by members of the Labour and Conservative parties as well as many Liberal Democrats. The motion also has the support of opposition leaders Nick Clegg and David Cameron whom have both met with Maggie.

With 103 signatures, EDM 85, is in the top 2% of most supported EDMs.
