Commenting on Roundshaw's 10 Year Celebration which took place earlier today, Tom Brake MP, who was involved from the beginning of the project, back in the 1990s, said,

"This £100 million regeneration programme transformed a 60s estate, which the Bill used as the back drop for their crime series, into an estate with some of the best housing in the Borough and a vibrant leisure centre and library - the Phoenix Centre - at its heart. Roundshaw residents, Sutton's Liberal Democrat Council and their officers are to be congratulated for having the vision to pursue this project."

Tom Brake also commended the work of residents off the estate, Councillors and contractors for their efforts which have so transformed Roundshaw.
