This past Friday, Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington took part in a Creative Cook In as part of the 4Children charity's Make Space for Health campaign. Tom served up a healthy dish with the help of a professional chef to show kids how easy it is to eat healthy.

Tom said: "What an enormously fun way to reach kids. Learning about healthy eating and living becomes much more enjoyable when it is hands on."

Make Space for Health has been launched in youth clubs across England to improve health and wellness amongst 11-16 year olds. The campaign aims to provide young people with a cross community network of support and relevant activities to make an impact on young people's life-long health decisions.

Tom continues: "Making healthy living and healthy choices appealing to young people is key. It's too easy for young people to slip into unhealthy habits, but events like these raise awareness of the issues facing our youngest generations. Knowing some great recipes is just one step towards ensuring a healthy future."

The event also comprised a nutrition quiz for participants and a demonstration by a professional chef.
