Carshalton restaurant, Blue Bengal, in Grand Final for Prestigious Parliamentary Restaurant Competition

The Blue Bengal has been chosen to represent Greater London, as one of the ten national finalists, in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition.

The final is to be held in the House of Commons on Tuesday 9th November. The competition is held every year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.

The Blue Bengal was nominated by Carshalton and Wallington residents in a poll conducted by Tom Brake via Facebook.

Local MP Tom Brake said, "I am delighted that the Blue Bengal has made it into the final of the Newby Teas Tiffin Cup 2010. This is such a prestigious award and I will certainly be there on 9th November to cheer on the Blue Bengal."

Keith Vaz MP, the chair of the Tiffin Club said, "We are delighted the Blue Bengal has beaten extremely stiff competition in order to become one of the finalists of the Newby Teas Tiffin Cup. We wish them the very best of luck for the final."
