Tom Brake, Member of Parliament for Carshalton and Wallington, has welcomed the additional £1.5 million investment for Sutton schools as a result of the Government's decision to double the Pupil Premium.

The Pupil Premium is designed to allocate extra resources to the most disadvantaged children, with schools receiving additional funds for each pupil in receipt of Free School Meals. The additional funds can be used by schools to provide one-to-one teaching and after-school clubs.

Commenting on the news Tom Brake MP said, "Education is a key driver to social mobility and this additional funding will give greater advantages to pupils from deprived backgrounds, improving their chances of success".
