MP for Carshalton and Wallington Tom Brake will visit the Rosehill Table Tennis Club this Friday to complete the fourth stage of his Olympic Gold Challenge for Bliss. Tom will head down to the club in the evening and will be put through his paces at a training session with club members.

Tom said: "I'm very excited to have the chance to play with the club and to train alongside its many members. Seeing as it's all in aid of charity, I hope they go easy on me!"

Rosehill Table Tennis Club has been a mainstay of the local community for over sixty years. Founded in 1951, the club now has over seventy members and competes in both the Sutton and Thames Valley Leagues.

Derek Wedge, the Club Secretary and also a founder member, said: "We're delighted to welcome Tom back to the Club. Tom has been a great help to Rosehill Community Association in the past. As a member of the committee he was instrumental in ensuring that the community centre remained open, allowing the clubs like the Rosehill Table Tennis Club to continue to function."

Tom's Challenge is to try his hand at ten Olympic sports before the start of the London games in July 2012 to raise money for Bliss, a charity that provides care and support to premature babies. To follow Tom's progress and to donate, visit www.justgiving.com/tombrakegoldchallenge.
