MP Welcomes New Pharmacy in Carshalton

Local MP, Tom Brake, visited the Mount Elgon Pharmacy in Carshalton to officially open the new community facility.

Tom Brake MP was able to see first-hand the growing contribution that pharmacy can make to the well-being of the local community. The pharmacy offers a wide range of services including a minor ailments service, free NHS healthcheck, diabetes screening and a new medicines service.

Raj Patel , superintendent pharmacist and owner of Mount Elgon Pharmacy, said: "I am delighted that Mr Brake is here to see for himself the crucial role that pharmacies play in promoting good health and delivering vital NHS services close to where people live, work and shop."

Tom Brake MP said: "It is great to see some of the developments in community pharmacies that mean my constituents can access a range of NHS services on their doorstep. The newly refurbished Mount Elgon Pharmacy is great news for local people. It will provide a fabulous range of pharmacy services including a full range of healthchecks just to prevent people from getting ill in the first place". Tom added "I will drop in to take advantage of the Free NHS Healthcheck myself. Prevention is better than cure !"
