Tom Brake MP judges annual Christmas card competition

November 26, 2012 4:17 PM

It's that time of year again, when MP for Carshalton and Wallington Tom Brake visits local primary schools and selects one Christmas card design among the many submitted to be sent to over a thousand residents and local organisations.

Tom said "The amount of creativity that is put into these cards never ceases to amaze me. It makes me incredibly happy to see so many children get involved in the competition, getting into the spirit of the season and expressing themselves so brilliantly."

The competition is being sponsored by Karim Fatehi of United Corporation Ltd, 30 Stafford Road, Wallington, SM6. The designer of the winning entry will be invited to visit the House of Commons with their family and enjoy tea and cake with Tom.

Tom said "It's never easy to select just one winner because there are so many talented children in our primary schools. Sharing their talent with the rest of the community is something that I've especially enjoyed throughout the years."

The winner and runners-up of the competition are invited to a mince pies event where all of their cards are displayed. The event is kindly hosted by Wallington Library and Friends of Wallington library.
