Planting daffodils with Tom Brake MP

Local MP Tom Brake was on hand on Sunday 18th November to help local councillors and residents plant thousands of daffodils on the green by Mallison Road and in Plough Lane near the junction with Queenswood Avenue.

Tom said "It was a great opportunity to get together with some of the residents and make our community a more attractive place to live. It was a lot of work, but it should pay off beautifully in the spring."

The bulbs were donated as part of the Local Committee Public Realm initiative after Councillor Pat Ali put in a request for them. In addition to Tom and Cllr Ali, Councillors John Leach and Steve Fenwick were also in attendance.

Councillor Ali said "It's absolutely amazing to see that community spirit hasn't died in Beddington; it's very much alive. I would like to thank everyone who came out and helped plant the bulbs to make Beddington better. We should reap what we sowed this coming spring."

Tom said "I thank Sutton council for making the planting possible as well as the residents who came out to do their bit."
