A savoury surprise at Carshalton Boys

To support the work of the Food Growing in Schools Taskforce, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, together with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, were the star guests on Monday at Carshalton Boys School to celebrate healthy eating in school food culture. MP for Carshalton and Wallington Tom Brake joined the celebrities at the special event.

Tom said "For any school to get one VIP visit is a convincing tribute to their excellence, to get two, sets the school apart from its peers. The work the pupils and teachers are doing at CBSC on healthy eating sets the standard for all our schools nationally."

The students of Carshalton Boys really get stuck into the healthy eating agenda keeping their own chickens for eggs, growing their own vegetables in the school garden, and preparing some excellent, wholesome, and tasty dishes themselves.

Tom said "Both Mr. Oliver and His Royal Highness are well-versed in the culinary arts, and for them to see what our students at Carshalton Boys are doing is an honour and a privilege."
