Residents in Wood Street have enlisted the help of local MP Tom Brake in their battle to ensure Thames Water takes action to stop the repeated sewage flooding that has blighted their lives for many years.

Following Tom Brake's intervention, Thames Water have pledged to investigate the problem and have arranged to meet with residents to discuss what can be done to prevent future flooding.

Tom said "It must be devastating to experience flooding, but it must be even worse when your home is flooded by sewage. It is time that Thames Water took steps to ensure that such flooding does not occur in the future, and that they confirmed things won't get worse when a number of new housing developments are completed in Hackbridge over the next few years."
