MP hosts Parliament Tour

Forty local residents were in for a treat this month when they attended a tour of Parliament hosted by local MP Tom Brake.

Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake gave 40 local residents a chance to explore one of the most iconic buildings in the world - the Palace of Westminster when he invited Sutton Guardian readers to apply for the group tour tickets.

Tom said it was "great to welcome so many Sutton residents to Westminster and to show them Parliament in action" and reminded local residents that they all have the right to visit Parliament, including the debating chamber and Big Ben.

"You don't have to become an MP to gain free entry to the Houses of Parliament", said Tom "I am always more than happy to give local people or groups the opportunity to visit."

Members' tours are available to UK residents free of charge during the week and must be sponsored by a Member of Parliament (MP) or a Member of the House of Lords. The tours are led by trained guides.

For more info, please contact Tom at Tom Brake with Sutton residents at Westminster hall, just before the tour.
