Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake faced his own version of Question Time when he was quizzed by a group of Wallington County Grammar students.

Local MP Tom Brake put himself in a hot seat when he met and talked to the senior and politics students at Wallington County Grammar. Tom was put through his paces by students who asked about issues ranging from how Tom got involved in Politics to which party he would like to form a coalition with after next general election.

"Some people think that young people aren't interested in politics but in my experience this is not the case."

"Every time I face similar events, I am always impressed by the range of questions asked and the level of interest in local, national, and international issues. Wallington County Grammar students were no exception."

"Being interviewed by Wallington County Grammar students is just as tough as going on Newsnight!"

The 'Discussion with Tom Brake MP' event gave the students an opportunity to meet their local MP and to raise any concerns they have on both local and national issues. Tom, on the other hand, had a chance to learn what issues concern his younger constituents so that he can better represent them in Parliament.

During the event, Tom was given a tour of the school and met Headmaster Jonathan Widen. He then gave a quick introductory speech, followed a cannonade of questions from students during an open Q&A session.
