Laugh the night away for charity

October 7, 2013 2:16 PM

Local residents are invited to a Comedy Night in aid of Cricket '4' Change (C4C), a charity that uses cricket to change the lives of disadvantaged young people.

Carshalton and Wallington MP, Tom Brake will also be making his way to the Cricket Centre in Plough Lane on Friday 18th October to fundraise for the charity. The fundraiser will feature comedians such as Darius Davies and Katy Poulter.

The comedy, ranging from cheeky puns, to witty one-liners and lyrical and musical jokes will ensure a funny and entertaining evening for all. Tickets for the event cost just £10 and include a raffle ticket.

Tom, MP for Carshalton and Wallington said: "I am really looking forward to the Comedy Night. The event promises a great atmosphere and a good laugh, and all for a good cause too!

"Come down to the Cricket Centre, Wallington, SM6 8JQ at 8pm and prepare to laugh!"

On October the 19th, Tom Brake, who is fundraising for C4C this year, will also take on the trails, hills, mud, water and camouflage nets when he takes part in the 'Grim Challenge'.

To raise the much needed funds for C4C, Tom will run, wade and crawl through a challenging 30k cross-country duathlon held at the Army's vehicle testing circuit in Aldershot.

Tom added: ""I have completed the challenge twice, and it is a true duathlon from hell! This year, I am coming for more Grimness. I will be taking on this hilly, wet and muddy challenge again to raise money for C4C."
