On Thursday 10th October Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, attended a local Turbo-training session at 1st Wallington Scout Hall in Ruskin Road, Carshalton with the Sutton Cycling Club.

On Thursday Tom trained with the Sutton Cycling Club in preparation for his GRIM challenge, which he is doing to fundraise for Cricket4Change on 19th October. The GRIM Challenge is the toughest short-course duathlon in the UK and will challenge Tom with trails, hills, mud, water, camo-nets and moguls.

The Sutton Cycling Club, which has produced cycling stars such as Joanna Rowsell, gave Tom the opportunity to check his pedalling technique and advice on further training. Their help was both informative and crucial for Tom as he prepares for the Grim Challenge.

Commenting on the fundraising opportunity, and training at the Club, Tom said, "The duathlon will be an immense personal challenge for me, but one that I feel is for a very worthwhile cause, Cricket4Change."

"Cricket4Change has helped many young people and the Sutton Cycling Club has helped enormously in preparing me for this challenge. "

"Sutton Cycling Club has improved my fitness and filled me with confidence for the challenge on the 19th October."

Formed in 1999 the Sutton Cycling Club helps young people to develop their cycling skills with the help of local cycling enthusiasts. Tom thoroughly enjoyed the hour long turbo-training session.
