Eight-year-old Kareece Stone-Small, from the Royal Marsden School Room, has been announced as this year's winner of Tom Brake MP's annual Christmas card competition.

Kareece was just one of hundreds of local children who had once again put pens, felt tips, paints and pencils to paper to help Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake with a design for his Christmas card, showcasing their talent and artistic spark. The overall winner and runners-up were announced during a presentation at Wallington library on Saturday, 7 December.
Tom Brake said: "Every year I turn to local children for help in spreading the festive cheer and designing my Christmas card. This year they responded in their hundreds which made it very difficult to choose the one winning design."
Kareece's entry wowed Tom with colourful and thoughtful design, featuring Santa about to make his way down someone's chimney. A card with her design will be sent to hundreds of local residents and organizations.
Other winners in the category Year 3 - Year 6 included:

· 2nd prize - Lyla Smith from Stanley Park Junior School

· 3rd prize - Angel Riminishta from Green Wrythe Primary School.
In the category Reception - Year 2, the three winning designs have been awarded to:

· 1st prize - Jasmine Said from Culvers House Primary School

· 2nd prize - Taylor-Rae Guerrero - Crocodile Class - Green Wrythe Primary School

· 3rd prize - James Kikidis - Robins - Rushy Meadow.
Tom added: "I would like congratulate all the winners and runners-up and thank all the pupils who entered the competition, for their hard work and excellent designs."
"A massive 'thank you' also goes to local business United Corporation Limited and its CEO Karim Fatehi who sponsored the competition once again. Without their support, it wouldn't be possible to hold this competition each year, so I cannot thank them enough."
Kareece has been invited to the House of Commons with her family for a tour of Parliament, followed by tea in the Pugin tea rooms.
