Lidl Promises Better Signage - Brake

Following complaints from residents, Lib Dem Carshalton and Wallington MP, Tom Brake, and Cllr Jayne McCoy have pushed Lidl in Wallington to make their parking policy much clearer.

Under an informal arrangement, residents picking up passengers from Wallington Station are given 10 minutes free parking in Lidl’s car park, which is monitored 24/7 by cameras, to collect their guests from the station. After 10 minutes, drivers are subject to a fine.

Tom said, “Over the last few weeks, I have received several complaints from residents about fines received after parking at Lidl’s to meet people coming off the train. I am pleased that the informal arrangement remains in place and that Lidl have agreed to provide visible and clearer signage at the place where drivers wait for passengers, so everyone should be aware of the risk of overstaying their free 10 minutes parking!”
