On Tuesday 22 November, Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake joined head teachers,
other MPs, policy makers and school leaders at a reception hosted by the London Leadership Strategy (LLS).
The event celebrated the work of head teachers and launched ‘Inspiring Greatness’ at the Speaker’s House in the Palace of Westminster.
Anita Kerwin-Nye, Managing Director of the London Leadership Strategy said:
“I couldn’t be more proud of the teachers in this room and the hands our children are in. London’s school results have improved dramatically in the last decade. Much of this is down to the extraordinary work of head teachers who consistently deliver great outcomes for the pupils in their own schools, whilst also providing support to other schools through organisations such as LLS.”
As well as celebrating school leaders, the evening also saw the launch of a new book entitled ‘Inspiring Greatness’ - a collection of case studies from eight primary schools that showcases individual areas of excellence in schools. Each school featured was a participant of LLS’s 2015/16 ‘Going for Great’ programme which has been created for schools that are Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” to support them on their journey to becoming world class.
Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington said:
“A top head teacher is the foundation of a good school, and I was very proud to attend LLS’s event to celebrate the fantastic work of our London head teachers. Sutton’s and London’s school results continue to improve, and it is through events like these - through networking and sharing best practice - that we can ensure this positive trend continues.”
