    Q: Let me know why
A: I was initially opposed to the idea and I would still want reassurance that successive Governments did not decrease the threshold so that increasing numbers of people ended up paying it (as tends to happen with tax related matters). However, the reason why I would support this is that those of us who can afford to purchase such an expensive property tend to be able to avoid paying their fair share of Income Tax and this is a tax that would be impossible to avoid, easy to administer and non-payment could result in the property being seized (difficult to physically move the property to a tax-haven). The top earners have a social responsibility so this is a legitimate and fair tax, but I would like some further reassurance that the income was not frittered away on duck pond houses and instead was put into areas of the economy which help the poorest, e.g. NHS, Welfare, Housing, Homelessness

    Q: Let me know why
A: Agree in principal, needs a lot more detail, this is just one of many ways to raise money as Tom knows only to well. The problem is with lack of adequate punishment for those who do not pay their share of our present system, without adding more layers of administration. Laws for the Rich and Powerful, are not the same for everyone. My view is that they should be much more severe. This is what Mr Tom Brake should be tackling.
The Houses of Parliament are a ruddy JOKE, Its a disgrace as a public service.

    Q: Let me know why
A: Income has fallen by 10% since the recession hit this country according to Mark Carney. In my opinion the working class. ie the low earners, have been hardest hit. To be fair to every one, I feel that it is important that those that are financially better able to contribute to rebuilding the economy should do so.

    Q: Let me know why
A: What we need is a couple of extra bands for our rates. Mansion tax is a ridiculously leftish idea only confirming that we are envious of those who have a bigger property than us. There are lots of reasons why people own big houses. It does not make them rich necessarily.
