Carshalton and Wallington MP, Tom Brake pushed himself to the limit by completing a 6 mile dash for Sport Relief.

The Sport Relief Games were held nationwide on Sunday 23rd March and as part of this, the David Weir Leisure Centre held its own Mad Dash on its outdoor track. On a day that delivered weather from all four seasons, people of all ages turned up to take part. Participants were able to run 1 mile (4 laps), 3 miles (12 laps) or 6 miles (24 laps).

Tom said: "It was fantastic to see so many local residents going that extra mile - no pun intended - to raise money for such a worthy cause."

"When it comes to charity, the UK is by far and away the most giving. Generosity really is in the DNA of our country."

The money raised by Sport Relief will go a long way in helping transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.
