Vigilance Against Vandalism

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 17th Sep 2004

Local MP Tom Brake today met with Stanley Jeyaraj from the Methodist church in Beddington Gardens to examine the vandalism on the property. Mr Brake said,

"I have seen the extent of the ugly vandalism done to the church. If the culprits responsible for the graffiti can not respect their environment then they should pay the penalty for committing criminal damage. I will be asking the police to keep the church on the route of their regular patrols and I will asking Sutton Council to investigate extending CCTV to the vicinity of the church."
