Tea At Downing Street With Young Constituents - Brake

Three young people from Carshalton and Wallington journeyed up to Westminster last Thursday (27 January) to meet local MP Tom Brake and attend a tea party at 10 Downing Street.

Mr Brake helped organise the visit for tea with Cherie Booth as a special treat. The young tea party-goers are already very civic-minded: Amy Carlse (age 13) from Carshalton took part in a political essay contest, Joe Reid (15) from Carshalton volunteers locally and Khalid el-Kaddi (10) from Wallington delivers literature on behalf of his local Neighbourhood Watch.

Mr Brake said,

"One of the best parts of my job is being able to meet young people who are passionate about our community and who give great consideration to how they can help make Sutton a better place to live. I hope that Amy, Joe and Khalid were inspired by the visit to Downing Street, because we can never have too many good citizens."
