It's final! Tory candidate wins local Pinocchio awards by considerable nose length

3.24.26pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 11th May 2005

As expected Michael Howard's parliamentary candidate has won this year's General Election Pinocchio awards.

A local resident informed us that, according to the Tory candidate, on February 24 Liberal Democrat MPs showed up during a pensioners' protest concerning council tax, but left after the photo call.

Tom Brake wasn't at the photo call.

Tom Brake said,

"My congratulations to the Tory candidate who has clearly put a lot of time and effort into making up stories and misrepresenting my policies. The Pinocchio award is therefore well-deserved."
