Seeking a Windfall from Landfill Tax - Brake

Local MP Tom Brake is backing local residents in their efforts to secure funding for replacement play equipment for Culvers House Primary School's playground and other local playgrounds. Mr Brake is in discussions with the firm Viridor (who manage the Beddington Landfill Site) about whether Landfill Tax Credits might be a possible source of funding, in the event that funding from Sutton Council is unavailable.

Mr Brake said, "As most parents will know, playtime for children is as important as time in the classroom. Playground equipment is incredibly expensive to replace after it has been vandalised or is no longer safe, but I hope Landfill Tax Credit might be the funding solution local residents have been looking for."

Mr Brake will be meeting with local residents about the Culvers House Primary School playground next week.
