Beddington Evening Townswomen's Guild Event

12.19.00pm GMT Fri 13th Jan 2006

Tom Brake, Liberal Democrat MP for Carshalton and Wallington, spoke at Beddington Evening Townswomen's Guild on Tuesday night (10 January). The event took place in the Guide Hall at Wallington Green from 8 pm to 9 pm, and about 70 people were present.

Tom said "I always enjoy the challenge of my meetings with the Beddington Evening Townswomen's Guild. No holds are barred in the 'Question and Answer' session and they do not put up with political waffle or evasiveness."

Tom spoke about the Liberal Democrat leadership, 'Better Healthcare Closer to Home,' which is a plan to reorganise local hospitals, and Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

His speech was followed by a lively question and answer session, where questions ranged from the future of Carshalton War Memorial Hospital to the cost of parking at local hospitals.
