TOM BRAKE BUSING FOR CARERS WEEK

Carshalton and Wallington's MP, Tom Brake, is holding a special surgery on Friday June 16th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm as part of Carers Week. The surgery will be held on a bus on Sutton High Street outside Waterstones bookstore where Mr. Brake will be available to speak with carers.

Mr. Brake has applauded the launch of a new campaign "Carers want health checks!" which promotes health checks for carers, 79% of whom believe caring has affected their health. Additionally, Mr. Brake, together with 260 other MP's, has signed a parliamentary Early Day Motion supporting Carers Week (EDM 2043).

Mr Brake comments, "I applaud all the people who give their time selflessly for others, and agree that it is important that we recognise their health needs. Offering regular health checks for carers is one way we can do this".

Paul Matz, Carers Week Manager, says "We are delighted that Mr. Brake is supporting the "Carers want health checks!" campaign".
