Carshalton Boys Sports College Shows Global Leadership11.01.05am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 19th Jul 2006 Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, met with students from Carshalton Boys Sport College last Friday to congratulate them for their participation in the National Sixth Form Conference as part of the Global Student Forum on the 3rd of July. The students, selected because of their leadership qualities, attended talks regarding the relationship between HIV and AIDS, with the aim of gaining understanding for the nature and causes of the disease, particularly in less developed countries. The students will be producing an educational DVD to present to their school. The DVD will feature a dance and Mr. Brake has volunteered to pull on his leg-warmers and join them!
Mr Brake said, "There was a real sense of enthusiasm amongst the students for campaigning on the issue of HIV and AIDS. I am very pleased to see students educating each other on something this important, and am pleased to be involved."
