Tom Brake Touches Base with PPMA

On April 23rd, 2007 Tom Brake, Liberal Democrat MP for Carshalton and Wallington visited the offices of PPMA in Stafford Road, Wallington.

PPMA are the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association. The Association provides a range of services to the Association's members which vary from technical services and support for members seeking to export their products to the lobbying of government on regulatory issues. The PPMA also run the PPMA show every two years as a platform for new technology and innovation which attracts around 8000-10,000 visitors.

During his visit Tom met Chris Buxton the Chief Executive of the PPMA to discuss the PPMA's role and the many challenges facing the Processing and Packaging Industry including the WEEE directive and overseas competition.

Tom Brake said after his visit "The PPMA is a very effective advocate of the industry's concerns. We are fortunate to have such an organisation based here in Wallington."
