11.08.20pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 30th Sep 2007

Tom Brake joined thousands around the country on Friday morning to make Macmillan's the World's Biggest Coffee morning (and a big fund-raiser for Macmillan). His host was Dawn Athey in St Michael's Road, Wallington.

He said, "The World's Biggest Coffee morning is not only a great fund-raiser for Macmillan and their nurses, but it is also a fantastic way to get to meet the neighbours! I hope they will have raised hundreds of thousands."

Macmillan aims to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and campaign for better cancer care.
