Help Design London's 2012 Olympic Velopark - Brake

11.41.24am GMT Mon 5th Nov 2007

Tom Brake MP, a keen cyclist and one of a very small number of MPs who uses his bike on parliamentary business, is calling on Sutton's schools to join the design competition to help design London's 2012 Velopark.

Information packs from London 2012 can be obtained from www.london2012.com/velodream.

The competition is open to students up to age 16 and will be accepting entries until 30 November 2007.

Carshalton High School for Girls has already entered the competition and Tom is hoping that other schools will follow suit.

Tom said, "I hope all our schools will sign up. This is a great way for young people to take part in the Olympics before they even start and what could be more satisfying than seeing built in concrete or glass or wood your own design."
