7.14.59pm GMT Thu 20th Dec 2007

Thousands of Carshalton and Wallington residents will be receiving a Christmas card featuring a design from a new designer called Holly Mackinlay in the next few days. This budding artist is in Year 6 at Stanley Park Junior School.

Her design, featuring a traditional motif of candle, holly and festive dinner was chosen amongst hundreds of other cards submitted by pupils from a number of schools including St Mary's Catholic School, All Saints Primary School and Tweedale Primary School to be the official Christmas card for Tom Brake MP.

Tom Brake said, "This competition - now a ten year old tradition in Carshalton and Wallington - saw record numbers of high quality entries. But Holly's really stood out with its bright colours and festive spirit. I hope the many people who will receive her card locally will agree!"
