Brake and Burstow Join Volunteers at Volunteer Fair in Sutton.4.24.39pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 12th Jun 2008
Tom Brake Lib Dem MP for Carshalton and Wallington and Paul Burstow, Lib Dem MP for Sutton and Cheam, joined volunteers at the Volunteer Fair last Saturday (7th June) in the Millennium Gardens in Sutton. Many voluntary organisations were represented at the Fair, including Meru, the Nature Conservation Volunteers and Cancer Research UK, Following contact at the event with Cancer Research UK's Area Volunteer Manager Emma Cronin, Tom Brake and Paul Burstow will be working with Cancer Research UK on their Relay for Life event. Relay for Life is a signature event which gathers all of the cancer survivors: people suffering from the disease, people who lost their family members and relatives in the fight with cancer, namely everyone who had ever faced with cancer. Cancer Research UK is a leading cancer research charity which transfers £24.5 million per year to the Institute of Cancer Research in Sutton.
