On Friday 27th June, Wilson's and Wallington High School for Girls held the final of their annual Joint Management event for Lower Sixth students at Wilson's school in Mollison Drive, Wallington.

Students were tasked with creating a retail product which was linked to the popular Gladiators show but would also help raise funds for a children's charity.

Tom Brake MP was one of two judges with the unenviable task of choosing the best presentation and product from a host of ground-breaking ideas.

Commenting Tom said: 'Many of the students' ideas have great commercial potential. So I wouldn't be surprised if one of them is turned into reality and is selling in the shops before the year is up!'

After much deliberation, the judges chose 'Quattro' as the winning team for their lip balm and sun-block product.

The management exercise is designed to help students develop their leadership and management skills in a business context. The programme includes educational activities such as panels on management skills led by speakers from the business world. Problem solving and team building activities are intended to help students' in their further education or careers.
