BHCH Project Takes a Step Forward.1.30.19pm GMT Thu 11th Feb 2010 Commenting on the news that the business case for Better Healthcare Closer to Home, which will see St Helier Hospital partially re-built, has finally been passed over to the Treasury, Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington said, 'This is great news for patients. We have taken one further step towards securing a hospital fit for the 21st century. The spotlight now shifts to the Treasury to approve the funding and the Better Healthcare Closer to Home project team to revise the plans to satisfy the requirements of the London Plan.' Sutton and Cheam MP Paul Burstow also welcomed the news saying, 'With Department of Health approval another important hurdle is cleared. Now the focus is on getting the Treasury to sign off on this vital investment in the future of our local NHS.'
